Wega007 SG Sorry, blur king... post in wrong place.. anyone love ice wine? Tried those from Austria, NZ, Canada, USA, Germany? I must agree Singapore, expensive like hell... how much huh?
FireIce SG i like ice wine..... i dunno from where.......fren buy i drink....... can get off the shelves in sinapore meh? tot oni duty free?
wanker10 SG Yes Ice Wine is expensive. But sometime in DFS, u can get discounted ice wine that cost around $30+. Alternatively, u can try Late Harvest that cost around $20+ or Port Wine which also cost the same. Both can be found at NTUC. They r very sweet. Cheers,
Wega007 SG alot of stuff are over-rate.. bird nest shark fin matsutake Mushroom Truffle caviar, 1 small tin in Russia cost US$100, maybe double in Singapore. they are suppose to be very sweet.. else it will not be dessert wine. meant to be taken in small amount, not get drunk with! NZ icewine not true ice wine as they are not frozen on vine. They are taken from vine and put in the freezer. In Singapore I thought Jason sell it or the wine shop in Taka have that. Maybe price will go down.. China maybe producing too http://www.beveragedaily.com/news/ng.asp?n=70492-changyu-aolos-ice-wine-china-wine [/url]
off_service SG That time I was in Black Forest, Germany and I tried the ice wine there. Not bad but costs 80 Euro each. Somemore tour just start so not very feasible to buy…
DummiesInc SG I bought a lot of ice wine from Canada when I came back. Its half the price of those sold at DFS in Singapore.
cairocks SG Yes, Ice wine....can't get enuf of it Just got a friend to bring in 2 bottles from Canada last week.
Wega007 SG which brands? and what type? share share... http://www.icewineniagara.net/ which will U recommend beside the popular Inniskillin?
Wega007 SG I love vineland estates.. (http://www.vineland.com/winery/tastingnotes.php) 1st get to know them in Suzhou china.. so cheap there even they were selling at a high class Mall 1 bottle RMB2000.
BadzMaro SG From Canada distilled using Frozen Grapes but this Eiswen is not as good as the Blue Nun Ice Wine. Also from Canada.
aRcTiC_sTaR SG LoL all ice wines are made from frozen grapes. So this falls under the mid-range, or low-end ice wines?
BadzMaro SG Well, the Eiswein ice wine has more fragrant and the hint of sweetness when smelled. But it tastes very sweet. The good is that the smell is nice.. u smell it when its opened n when its in the wine glass. The Blue Nun Ice Wine however is not as fragrant , but it has a longer finish to it. N not AS sweet. The Eiswein Founder's Series Ice Wine is better. I consider then mid range ice wines. There is also the golden flakes ones. Blue nun cheaper.. but personally i reckon it tastes better.
aRcTiC_sTaR SG Isn’t Eiswein the german name for ice wine? Therefore Eiswein = Ice Wine, Ice Wine = Eiswein?
BadzMaro SG yup. There are better. the Founders Series is more expensive n smaller in bottle some more. not bad for mid range ice wine.
aRcTiC_sTaR SG Ok, so for the mid range ice wine I posted above, is $40 worth it? I’m either getting this or an Inniskillin (which costs more).
BadzMaro SG the Eiswein for S$40 ? oh yeah . In some wine shops retail in MY it can go up to RM240. After Duty paid n all that crap.
